Transportable buildings are amongst the earliest man-made artefacts. Showcasing the work of Buckminster Fuller's Whinchita House and Nicholas Grimshaw's British Pavilion for Expo '92, the author looks at the development of these buildings,using examples from the pre-historic to present day.
