In the stream of images only few interruptions occur. One image vanishes, the next emerges. And yet another. Thought-images glide accross thresholds, sometimes visually, sometimes inthe motionof a finger or in the turning of a page automatically skipped. One is thereby joined to another-resonances are registered through an image. Painting is a physical process. Fingers sense the consistency of the material, mediate the spirit out of which the world around us subsists. Hands wipe and condense the substance, spread and swirl it, push it across the surface. Micrometre by micrometre, one particle is placed alongside another until they combine into a single plane.
