The publication Dialog Beyond Disciplines moves between disciplines – where boundaries blur, perspectives shift, and new ways of thinking about design emerge through exchange. As part of a joint project, the two communication designers Corinna Gratzl and Julia Klass visited renowned design studios and institutions in Italy, the Netherlands, France, and Germany. The designers and experts, who work across disciplines at the intersection of architecture, scenography, product design, craftsmanship, graphic design, art, and science, were interviewed and photographed in their working environments. A selection of these interviews, in situ photographs, and object scans are arranged and summarized in the publication. An additional glossary provides a general overview of open-disciplinary working methods. Design and architecture journalist Jasmin Jouhar was invited to conduct an introductory foreword interview with the two authors.
